Terry College debuts online planner certification

Greene Consulting and the U of G's biz school link up to offer web course. Greene Consulting Associates, an Atlanta, Ga.-based financial services consulting and training firm, has tied up with the University of Georgia to launch an online executive program for financial planning certification.

"There has been a definitive trend in the marketplace whereby advisors are being required to prove their expertise through completion of specialized designations programs," says David Greene, managing partner at Greene Consulting. "While there are numerous designations in the marketplace, the CFP certification is one that is identified as the standard for those advisors seeking to deliver integrated financial planning to clients."
The certificate program will be offered through the university's Terry College of Business. Registered with the cfp.net Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, the program will adhere to the Board's educational requirements.
The course covers six broad academic subjects: fundamentals of financial planning, risk management and insurance planning, investment planning, income tax planning, retirement planning and estate planning.
What makes this offering different from other offering is the participation of Greene, which re-packages the course as a web-based offering and makes it available to distance learners.
U.S. News & World Report has ranked Terry College among the top 20 business schools in the U.S. The same publication has ranked Terry College's program in risk management and insurance number two in the country. -FWR .
